Good news for people who own Off-Contact AT&T iPhone. You can now unlock your iPhone on any baseband by contacting AT&T without any fee but your device shouldn’t be under the contract.
In order to be eligible for this service, customer’s account is required to be in good standing and your phone shouldn’t be linked with the current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account. The contract term should have been completed or upgraded under their upgrade policies or you should have paid an early termination fee.
Most of the iPhone 4 owners with Baseband 4.11.08 have 2 year contract with AT&T and some of you might be aware that iPhone 4 was launched on 24 June, 2010, which means that they’ve to wait for two more months. Although, 3GS owners can try their luck with this method.

Creating an account on a computer
- If you already have an account, open iTunes. From the menu bar choose Store > Sign Out.
- Click iTunes Store (on the left side of the iTunes window) and pick your country by clicking the appropriate country flag located in the bottom-right corner of the main iTunes Store page.
- Navigate to the App Store by clicking on App Store from the top navigation bar.
- Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install a free app. To find a free app, navigate to the Top Charts column on the right side of the App Store window. Scroll down until you see the list of Free Apps. Select any app by clicking on it. Then click Free App underneath the app icon.
